1. What Are Cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device (computer, phone, or tablet) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently, to remember your preferences, and to provide information to website owners.
Similar technologies include web beacons, pixel tags, localStorage, and sessionStorage. This policy covers all such technologies used on Football Planet, including the cookies that keep you signed in and remember your language and view.
2. How We Use Cookies
Football Planet uses cookies and browser storage for the following purposes:
- To remember your preferences (language, selected league, sidebar state)
- To keep you logged in to the admin panel during a session
- To maintain your Social Network login session across browser sessions (using localStorage — persists until you log out or clear browser data)
- To store your cookie consent preference
- To collect analytics data about how you use the website
- To serve relevant advertising content
3. Types of Cookies We Use

Football Planet uses its own privacy-first analytics (a pseudonymous fp_vid identifier, set only after you accept analytics) to understand how visitors use the site. Third-party analytics services (such as Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, or PostHog) are only loaded if configured, and only after you grant analytics consent — no third-party analytics script runs before you accept. These services may set their own cookies once loaded.
Advertising Third-party advertising (requires consent)
Football Planet does not currently display third-party or affiliate advertising banners. If third-party advertising is introduced in the future, those advertising partners could set cookies on your device to:
Measure the effectiveness of advertisements
Serve you personalised or relevant ads
Track conversions (e.g. if you click an affiliate link)
We do not control these third-party cookies. Please refer to the relevant third party's privacy and cookie policies.
4. Embedded Content — Cookies & Tracking
YouTube & Embedded Video Players
Embedded YouTube videos and other third-party media may place cookies or use similar tracking technologies when visitors view or interact with the embedded content. Football Planet embeds YouTube videos in two places:
Social Network posts — when a registered user shares a YouTube video link
Admin Live Panel — when Football Planet's editorial team features a public YouTube video on the dashboard
In both cases, the YouTube iframe embed player is loaded from Google's servers. When you interact with (or in some cases simply load a page containing) an embedded YouTube player, YouTube (Google) may:
Set cookies on your device (including advertising and preference cookies)
Collect your IP address, device identifiers, and browser information
Record viewing behaviour and interactions with the player
Football Planet gates YouTube player loading behind consent. The YouTube iframe is only created after you enable the Marketing & External Video preference (or click "Allow YouTube video" on a specific embed). Until then, no YouTube or Google network requests are made from your browser for that player. Once a YouTube player is active, Google's own privacy policy governs the resulting data processing — Football Planet does not control what Google processes once the player is loaded. You can withdraw external video consent at any time via the cookie preference panel. Active YouTube players will stop loading on subsequent page visits. To block third-party cookies at the browser level, see Section 5 below.
5. Third-Party Services
The following third-party services used on Football Planet may set cookies or collect data:
- YouTube (Google): Used to embed videos on the Social Network, the videos pages, and the Admin Live Panel. YouTube may set advertising, preference, and analytics cookies. See Google Privacy Policy and YouTube Terms of Service. Football Planet is not affiliated with or endorsed by YouTube or Google.
- Advertising partners: Football Planet does not currently display third-party or affiliate advertising banners. Any future advertising partners' cookies would require your consent before being set.
- AI features: Football Planet uses artificial intelligence to generate certain content (summaries, analyses, predictions). Where AI processing requires sending text you submit to a third-party AI provider, this is done server-side; no additional browser cookies are set as a result.
- Resend: Used to send transactional emails (verification, contact form replies). Email service providers do not set browser cookies.
- API-Football / data providers: Server-side data APIs providing match data, statistics, and match probability information. No browser cookies are set by these services.
- Replit (hosting): The hosting infrastructure may process access logs including IP addresses, but does not set cookies in your browser directly.
Football Planet does not use Google AdSense, Google reCAPTCHA, or social login providers. Third-party analytics tools (Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, PostHog) are only loaded if configured for a deployment, and never before you grant analytics consent. This list will be updated if new services are added.
6. How to Manage Cookies
You can control and manage cookies in several ways:
Browser Settings
Most browsers allow you to refuse cookies, delete existing cookies, or be notified when a new cookie is set. Refer to your browser's help pages:

Note: Blocking essential cookies or clearing them will sign you out, including from private messages, and may prevent other parts of Football Planet from working correctly, such as language preferences and platform access.

7. Your Consent & Cookie Preferences
When you first visit Football Planet, we display a cookie consent banner. The banner works as follows:
Consents to all cookies including analytics cookies and YouTube embed cookies that may be set when you load pages containing embedded YouTube players (Social Network posts and Admin Live Panel). Your consent is recorded and respected across your visit.
Changing your preferences: You can withdraw or change your cookie consent at any time by clearing your browser cookies and localStorage and revisiting Football Planet — the consent banner will reappear and you can make a new selection.
Note: Football Planet does not currently have an in-page cookie preference centre. If you need to modify your preferences without clearing all browser data, use your browser's built-in storage management tools (see Section 6 above) to delete Football Planet's fp_gdpr_consent_v2 localStorage entry — the consent banner will reappear on your next visit. If you withdraw analytics consent after third-party analytics scripts have loaded, reload the page to fully remove them.

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
