Football Planet (footballplanet.com) is an independent football information, statistics, professional networking, and social community platform. Football Planet is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by FIFA, UEFA, any football club, league, federation, YouTube, Google, or any other organisation unless expressly stated. We are the data controller for personal data collected through this website. References to "Football Planet", "we", "us" or "our" in this policy mean the Football Planet platform.

2. What Personal Data We Collect and Why
We collect personal data in the following circumstances:
2.2 Player Portfolio Registration
When you create a player portfolio, we collect:
- Full name and nationality
- Date of birth
- Physical attributes (height, weight)
- Playing position(s) and preferred foot
- Current and former clubs, leagues, and career history
- Playing level and availability status
- Shirt number
- Career statistics (goals, assists, appearances)
- Video highlight URL
- Agent representation details (if provided)
- Social media profiles
- Photo URL
2.3 Football Club Registration
When you register a football club, we collect:
- Club name, logo URL, and description
- Country, city, league, and division
- Contact person's full name
- Email address and phone number
- Official website URL
Legal basis: Consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). You voluntarily submit this data to create a public club listing.
2.4 Social Network Account Registration
When you create a Social Network account on Football Planet, we collect the following data that you voluntarily provide:
- First name and surname
- Email address and/or phone number (used as login identifier)
- Profile photo (URL or uploaded image)
- Country of residence
- Biography / "About Me" text
- Football clubs and national teams supported
- Fan club affiliation
- Social media links (LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram)
- Verified role (if granted by Football Planet: agent, player, club, startup, fan club)
Legal basis: Consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). You voluntarily register to participate in the Social Network community.
In addition, when you use the Social Network, we collect and store the following activity data:
- Posts: The text, photos, directly uploaded videos, YouTube video URLs you share, and internet photo URLs you repost — together with timestamps and post type
- Comments: The text of comments you leave on posts, together with timestamps
- Likes: Records of posts you have liked (stored as a relationship between your account and the post)
- Session cookie: a session cookie (fp_fan) that keeps you signed in for up to 30 days, or until you sign out. Only a scrambled form of it is stored on our side.
Legal basis: Contract performance (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR) — this data is necessary to operate the Social Network features you have requested.
YouTube Videos & Internet Photos (Social Network)
When you share a YouTube video link on the Social Network, Football Planet stores the YouTube URL you provide. The video itself is not hosted by Football Planet — it is embedded via YouTube's official Embed API and streamed from YouTube's servers. YouTube (Google) may independently collect data when a visitor interacts with the embedded player; this is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. When you repost an internet photo, Football Planet stores the image URL or the image file you upload. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to share that content.
Admin Live Panel — YouTube Embeds
The Admin Live Panel may display a publicly-available YouTube video on the dashboard, selected by Football Planet's editorial team. Football Planet stores only the YouTube URL in its database — not the video file itself. The video is embedded and streamed via YouTube's official Embed API. No personal data of dashboard visitors is collected by Football Planet as a result of the Live Panel. YouTube (Google) may independently collect viewer data (IP address, device identifiers, viewing behaviour) when a visitor loads the embedded player; this is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
2.6 Predictions, Weekly Challenge & FP Points
When you use the prediction features (Match Predictor, Weekly Challenge / Beat the AI, missions, streaks and leaderboards), we store the predictions you submit, their outcomes, your prediction record and your FP Points balance, and we associate them with your account so that your personal record, streaks and leaderboard position can be shown. No financial or payment data is collected — participation is free and no bets are placed or accepted. Individual predictions are not published; aggregated community percentages and leaderboard entries (display name and score) may be publicly visible. Legal basis: Contract performance (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR) — necessary to provide the prediction features you have requested.
2.6a Third-Party Services Used on Football Planet
The following third-party services are used on Football Planet. Each may process data about your visit independently, under their own privacy policies:
YouTube (Google LLC)
Purpose: Embedding publicly-available videos on the Social Network (user posts) and the Admin Live Panel (editorial dashboard feature)
Data collected by Google: IP address, device identifiers, browser information, viewing behaviour, cookies set by the YouTube player
Legal basis (Football Planet): Consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR) — YouTube players are loaded only after you actively grant external-video consent via the cookie preference centre or the per-video Allow button. Consent may be withdrawn at any time; active players are destroyed immediately upon withdrawal. Football Planet does not rely on legitimate interests as the basis for loading YouTube or other external-media players.
Note on data collected by Football Planet before consent: Before consent is granted, Football Planet records only your consent state (granted/denied) and, if you are signed in, your user ID against that preference. No YouTube player, Google script, or DoubleClick resource is loaded before consent.

Vercel Inc. (Web Hosting & Infrastructure)
Purpose: Hosting and serving the Football Planet web application and processing web requests
Data processed: Network and request data needed to serve Football Planet, including IP addresses, request metadata, runtime logs, and content transmitted through the web application
Legal basis: Contract performance / legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR)

Neon / Databricks (Database Infrastructure)
Purpose: Hosting Football Planet's production PostgreSQL database
Data processed: Account, session, prediction, community and other application data that Football Planet stores in its production database
Legal basis: Contract performance / legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR)
Privacy Policy: neon.tech/privacy-policy
API-Football (RapidAPI)
Purpose: Providing live match data, statistics, fixtures, results, standings, and player data displayed across Football Planet
Data collected by them: API request metadata (server-side only; no browser-level data collection from visitors)
Legal basis: Legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) — powering core platform features

Resend (Email Service)
Purpose: Sending transactional emails (e.g. account verification emails to Social Network registrants; responses to Contact form submissions)
Data processed: Email address, name, message content (for contact form), email delivery metadata

Football Planet does not currently use Google Analytics, Google AdSense, Google reCAPTCHA, Cloudflare, or social login providers. If any of these services are added in the future, this policy will be updated accordingly.
2.6b Third-Party Embedded Content
Football Planet may display videos, live streams, and other multimedia content using the official embedding functionality provided by third-party platforms, including YouTube. When you view or interact with embedded content, the respective third-party provider may collect technical information directly from your browser or device. This may include:
- IP address and approximate location
- Browser type, version, and operating system
- Device type and identifiers
- Pages visited and navigation behaviour on that platform
- Viewing activity and interactions with the embedded player
- Cookies and local storage identifiers set by the third-party platform
Football Planet does not set the terms under which third-party embedded-content providers (such as Google/YouTube) collect or process information, and has limited ability to restrict such collection beyond what it can achieve through consent gating (which prevents the YouTube player from loading until you grant external-media permission) and the use of the privacy-enhanced embed domain (youtube-nocookie.com). Once you enable a YouTube embed, your data is processed by Google/YouTube under their own privacy policy and terms. Where possible, Football Planet uses youtube-nocookie.com to reduce, but not eliminate, data processing before interaction. By enabling a YouTube embed, you acknowledge that your information may be processed by Google in accordance with their policies.
Refer to Section 4 (Embedded Content) of our Cookie Policy for details on which cookies third-party embedded players may set on your device.
YouTube content states
An embedded YouTube video may be in one of four states, all subject to the same YouTube terms, copyright, and privacy rules:
- Recorded video — an ordinary uploaded recording
- Upcoming — a scheduled broadcast not yet started
- Live — a broadcast currently in progress (status confirmed via YouTube metadata, not inferred from title or thumbnail)
- Replay — a completed livestream whose recording remains available
Football Planet obtains live/upcoming/replay/recorded status directly from YouTube's metadata API. Status labels shown in the player reflect YouTube's authoritative response at the time of display.
2.6c AI-Generated Content
AI Content Notice
Football Planet may use artificial intelligence to generate summaries, comparisons, statistics, rankings, match analyses, tactical insights, predictions, recommendations, translations, and other informational content. AI-generated content may contain inaccuracies and should not be relied upon as professional advice.
- AI-generated content is provided for informational and entertainment purposes only and may occasionally contain inaccuracies
- Football Planet does not use your personal data to train AI models unless explicitly stated and separately consented to
- Where AI-powered features process text you submit (e.g. chat queries), this processing is done under legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) or contract performance (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR)
- Users should independently verify important information before relying on AI-generated content, particularly for any financial, legal, or medical decision

2.7 Contact Form
When you use the Contact Us form, we collect your name, email address, and message content.
Legal basis: Legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) — to respond to your enquiry.
2.8 Technical and Usage Data
When you visit Football Planet, we and our third-party service providers may automatically collect:
- IP address and approximate location (country/city level)
- Pages visited, time spent, and navigation patterns
- Referring website or search query
- Device type (desktop/mobile/tablet)
Additionally, when you load a page containing an embedded YouTube player — including Social Network posts that share a YouTube video, or the Admin Live Panel when it is displaying a featured YouTube video — YouTube (Google) may independently collect data such as your IP address, device identifiers, and viewing behaviour. This data is collected by Google directly and is governed by Google's Privacy Policy, not this policy. Football Planet does not store or process the video content itself — it is streamed from YouTube's servers via the official YouTube Embed API.
Legal basis: Legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) — to maintain website security, diagnose technical issues, and understand how our service is used.
3. How We Use Your Data
- To display your agent, player, or club profile publicly on Football Planet
- To enable clubs, agents, players, and scouts to discover and contact you
- To operate the Social Network, including displaying your public profile, posts, comments, YouTube video shares, internet photo reposts, and likes to other visitors
- To authenticate your Social Network account and maintain your login session
- To enable other users to interact with your Social Network content (liking, commenting)
- To respond to your messages submitted via the Contact Us form
- To send you a verification email when you register or request a new verification link
- To maintain the security and performance of the website
- To comply with legal obligations
We do not use your personal data for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
4. Public vs. Private Data on Football Planet
Not all data you submit is public. The following distinction applies:
Publicly visible (accessible to all visitors)
Your Social Network display name, profile photo, and bio/location information
Every post, photo, video, YouTube video share, and internet photo repost you publish on the Social Network
Every comment you leave on Social Network posts
The number of likes and comments your posts receive
Your public fan page at /fans/[your username], showing your username, level, FP Points, rank and the club you support
Agent profiles, player portfolios, and football club listings
Private (visible only to you and the other participant)
All messages sent and received through the Football Planet Messenger
Your Messenger conversation list
The fans you have blocked, and the reports you have made
Only submit information and content you are comfortable sharing appropriately. You may request deletion of your account and its content, including private messages, through the Contact Us button (see your rights below).
5. User-Generated Content and Our Role
Football Planet operates as an intermediary platform for the Social Network and Messenger. We store and display content that users voluntarily submit (posts, photos, videos, YouTube video shares, internet photo reposts, comments, and private messages — which are text and emoji only) but we do not author, pre-screen, or endorse that content. Accordingly:
- Football Planet is not responsible for the accuracy, legality, or appropriateness of any user-generated content
- Each user is solely responsible for the content they post, share, or send — including YouTube video links and internet photo reposts — and any personal data of third parties they include
- If you include personal data of another individual in your post or message without their consent, you become an independent data controller for that data and must comply with applicable data protection law
- YouTube video content embedded via the Social Network is streamed from YouTube's servers; Football Planet does not process or store the video data itself. Google's privacy practices govern the YouTube player
We will act upon valid complaints and may remove content that violates our Community Guidelines or applicable law. To report a private message, use the Report button inside the conversation. For anything else, or if you cannot use that button, use the Contact Us button in the sidebar.
6. How Long We Keep Your Data
- Profile data (agents, players, clubs): Retained until you request deletion, or until the profile is removed by our moderation team for a policy violation.
- Social Network posts and comments: Retained until deleted by you or removed by our moderation team. This includes posts containing YouTube video links and internet photo reposts.
- Private messages, blocks and reports: Retained until removed by our moderation team or your account is deleted at your request.
- Contact form messages: Retained for up to 12 months, then deleted.
- Technical/access logs: Retained for up to 90 days for security purposes.
7. Who We Share Your Data With
We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with:
- Web hosting & infrastructure: Football Planet's web application is hosted on Vercel. Vercel processes the network and request data needed to serve the service.
- Database infrastructure: Football Planet's production PostgreSQL database is hosted on Neon / Databricks. Neon processes the application data stored there on Football Planet's behalf.
- YouTube (Google): When a Social Network post contains an embedded YouTube video, the YouTube player loads resources from Google's servers. Google may collect viewer data independently under its own privacy policy. Football Planet does not share your personal account data with YouTube/Google for this purpose.
Where data is transferred outside the European Economic Area (EEA), we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place in accordance with GDPR Chapter V.
8. Cookies and Local Storage
Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable data protection law, you have the following rights:
- Right to rectification: Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data. Social Network users can edit most profile data directly from their profile page.
- Right to restriction: Ask us to restrict how we use your data in certain circumstances.
- Right to data portability: Receive your data in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format.
- Right to object: Object to our processing of your data where we rely on legitimate interests.
- Right to withdraw consent: Where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the Contact Us button in the sidebar. We will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection supervisory authority.
10. Children's Privacy
Football Planet is not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16 years of age. Accounts require users to be at least 16 years old, and before sending a private message a user must confirm, themselves, that they are 16 or over. That confirmation is a self-declaration; Football Planet does not verify age. If you believe a child has submitted personal data or created a Social Network account, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.
We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or alteration. Accounts are protected by a password, stored only in scrambled form, and a session cookie. Messenger messages are stored server-side and are accessible only to the two participants of each conversation, and to Football Planet staff reviewing a report about a message in that conversation, who see that message and the few before it — they are not exposed to other users or publicly accessible. YouTube video content shared via Social Network posts is streamed from YouTube's servers and is not stored by Football Planet; the security of that content is governed by YouTube's own infrastructure. However, no transmission over the internet is 100% secure. You submit personal data and send private messages at your own risk and should ensure your own device is secure.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Material changes will be highlighted. Your continued use of Football Planet after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
